Vic: Four sought over supermarket robbery

MELBOURNE, April 1 AAP - Two men and two women are being sought by police over an armed
robbery at a supermarket in Elwood, in Melbourne's inner south-east, on Tuesday.

A police spokesman said two men, armed with knives and wearing balaclavas, entered
the Foodworks supermarket in Tennyson St, Elwood, about 12.30pm (AEST) Tuesday.

The men threatened staff and demanded cash and cigarettes, the spokesman said.

No one was injured in the robbery.

After taking an undisclosed sum of money and cigarettes the pair left with two women
in a red Ford Laser sedan, which was believed to have been stolen.

The two men were seen getting into a taxi with the two women after they dumped the
car in Chaucer St, St Kilda.

One man was described as 175cm tall, with a medium build and a goatee.

He was wearing a light green white striped top and light blue pants.

The second man was also 175cm tall, with a medium build, and was wearing a dark windcheater
with a USA logo.

One of the women was 165cm tall, about 70kg, and wore a black jacket with a white stripe.

The other woman was 165cm tall, about 70kg, and wore a light purple v-neck top.
